In January of this year I had reached out to every contractor I knew, I was unsuccessful in finding a suitable person and I resorted to contacting Kingdom Design and Build via Instagram. Upon meeting Harket I knew I could trust this complete stranger (whose work I had never seen in person) to get the job done right and on time. From the very beginning Harket was upfront about his way of working which is to be very detail oriented and thorough while charging fair prices for the quality of work outputted. He and his team always worked full days and were extremely professional during the project. He was always honest about project timelines and budgets and he always sent us text or phone call updates of the status of the basement renovations. Our family and friends are shocked by the renovations and have said our basement looks like a hotel, I highly recommend Harket and his team for all of your home renovation needs! Some tasks done were: Removed all laminate and installed vinyl flooring Rearranged all kitchen cupboards while putting in a new double sink, stove and fridge in addition to a quartz countertop + backsplash Ran all plumbing and completely built a new luxury washroom (en suite) with a standing shower and floor to ceiling large porcelain tiles Put two large bedrooms (with closet doors that swing open) and made a window in one room Painted the entire basement, replaced all crown moulding, put new pot lights Put a laundry room in a completely different area (previously we did not have one) The quality of work and craftsmanship is at a level typically found in custom built homes. This is the first time I had worked with someone who was not recommended to me by family or a friend but I am certain I will be a returning customer. I contacted Harket just on a whim after finding a flyer in my mailbox in August 2024. I had been wanting to renovate our basement for a few years and finally decided to contact him. He came within 2 days of my initial call and after listening and looking at my job told me exactly how many days he would need to do it and how much it would cost. I had previously had 4 other contractors in the last few years who had quoted me 3 times the cost for the same work and told me that their quote would be more expensive in January 2025 when I actually wanted to do the job. Somehow I decided to place my trust in Harket instead to do the job. Harket gave me the date he could start and showed up within 5 minutes of his promised time. Off to a good start! The first few days I was unsure as I watched our existing basement(living room, kitchen and laundry room) get ripped apart and new porcelain tiles were installed. But as per previous reviews he cleaned up every night and I barely had to lift a finger. By the 4th day I was stunned. The floor looked like it belonged in a higher class home it was done with such precision and care. Every joint looked perfect. No shortcuts were taken. Harket is a quiet person when working and only requests to be alone to do his craft. By the time my laundry room was completed I was in complete awe of this man. Harket worked 7 days a week 8 hours a day and always cleaned up after himself. All work materials were cleaned up and disposed of. Most importantly Harket is a man of his word and will tell you up front how much things will cost and doesn't suddenly raise the price mid-job. The last day not only did he do a final clean up but he even rearranged little knick knacks on the shelf in my newly painted kitchen. I walked downstairs later that night and asked myself; WHY didn't I hire this man to do all my other home renovations the last few years.
